On behalf of our client we are seeking a proactive, forward thinking senior farm assistant with a passion for producing high quality vegetable crops.

They are a progressive, soon to be irrigated medium scale family farm within 15 minutes of Darfield, Mid Canterbury. Income streams include carrots, potatoes, onions, beetroot and general arable and stock.

The position would suit someone with tractor driving and planting experience and who has an appreciation of the principles of organic farming, takes pride in their work and surroundings, and shows a desire to progress towards a production management position.

Emphasis in on the vegetable production (cultivating, planting and harvesting)

The farm is innovative, progressive and uses the most up to date modern farm machinery.

The successful applicant needs to have:

• Ability to relate well with others
• Initiative and attention to detail
• Some experience in all aspects of mixed arable farming
• Tractor and machinery experience
• Full drivers licence
• Ideally have an interest in organic production
• NZ residency or a valid work visa
