On behalf of a Low Order Sharemilker, we are seeking a motivated, honest and reliable dairy assistant to join their friendly team for an immediate start.

We are looking for a person who has a desire to progress in the dairy industry. Experience is preferred. A background in farming would be desirable.

Together with our client, we will support you in your career development and training, including on farm training and off farm formal training.

The farm is 524 effective ha in the Geraldine area. They milk 2100 cows at peak through a modern Milfos 100 bale rotary with cup removers.

Average hours is 50/week and roster is 6 days on / 2 days off over calving and mating and 9/3 for the rest of the season. Remuneration is by negotiation.

The farm is a drug and smoke free environment and we may undertake random drug testing from time to time. The applicant must have no criminal convictions.

Single accommodation is available.

Driver’s licence and own vehicle is required. Motorbike experience is preferred.

The dairy assistant position involves milking, bringing in cows for milking, assisting with animal health, mating and calving. Also setting up and taking down temporary electric fences, completing general maintenance, assisting with irrigation there are 4 pivots and long line laterals, weed control and other duties as directed. 

This is a great farm to develop tractors skills and everyone gets to feed out and mow.
