On behalf of our client, we are seeking a motivated, honest and reliable dairy assistant to join their friendly team for an immediate start.

We are looking for a person who has a desire to progress in the dairy industry. Experience is preferred. A background in farming would be desirable.

Together with our client, we will support you in your career development and training, including on farm training and off farm formal training.

The farm is 267 ha and is located in the Timaru district. The farm is a recent conversion and milks 1000 cows through a modern rotary cowshed. Average hours is 50/week and roster is flexible, depending on the time of year. Remuneration is by negotiation.

• The farm is a drug free and the applicant must have no criminal convictions.
• Shared accommodation is available.
• Driver’s licence and own vehicle is required. Motorbike experience is preferred.

The dairy assistant position involves milking, bringing in cows for milking, assisting with animal health, mating and calving. Also setting up and taking down temporary electric fences, completing general maintenance, assisting with irrigation, weed control and other duties as directed.
