Here is a chance to really show your management skills, we have a number of 2IC positions available in Mid Canterbury.

We are seeking people with a minimum of 2- 3 years on-farm experience and the ability to take on responsibility. 

Can you train staff, allocate jobs within the team, run the farm in the farm mangers absence? You will be managing a small team of motivated and keen staff who are invested in further training and development on and off-farm,

You will have responsibility for milking activities, troubleshooting, rectifying problems and knowing when further advice or help is required as well as keeping an eye on the tanker docket and the residuals.

This is a great opportunity to get stuck into making a difference and using your previous training to influence farm productivity as well as completing documentation required on farm while ensuring all farm policies are implemented.

You will also be responsible for gathering information on farm to influence feeding decisions i.e. farm walks and grass cover and you will need to show that you understand feed budgeting and basic feed calculations to show if cows are being fed the correct amount and be able to analyse post-grazing residuals
