On behalf of our client, we are seeking a motivated, honest and reliable dairy assistant to join their friendly team for the 17/18 season, beginning 1 st June 2017.

We are looking for a person who has a desire to progress in the dairy industry. Experience is preferred although not essential. A background in farming would be desirable.

Together with our client, we will support you in your career development and training, including on farm training and off farm formal training.

The farm is 200 ha in the Ashburton area and milks 650 cows through a modern rotary cowshed.

Average hours is 50/week and roster is 11 days on / 3 days off. Remuneration is by negotiation.

The farm is a drug and smoke free environment and we may undertake random drug testing from time to time. The applicant must have no criminal convictions.

Single accommodation is available. No pets allowed.
Driver’s licence and own vehicle is required. Motorbike experience is preferred.

The dairy assistant position involves milking, bringing in cows for milking, assisting with animal health, mating and calving. Also setting up and taking down temporary electric fences, completing general maintenance, assisting with irrigation, weed control and other duties as directed.
