Looking to step up and take charge of some responsibilities on farm as an assistant herd manager in Mid Canterbury?

Our client is a contract milker who is looking for the right person with a good attitude and work ethic and wants to learn everything that this team has to teach in animal health to driving the tractor and using the wagon.

Milking 1150 cows on 272ha though a 50 bale rotary in-shed feeding, milk meters, protrack and heat detection camera. Pivot and k line irrigation on farm.

6/2 roster and a monthly bonus system. 3 bedroom house available 

We are looking for a person who has a desire to progress in the dairy industry.

The position involves milking, bringing in cows for milking and animal health. Also setting up and taking down temporary electric fences, completing general maintenance, weed control. You need to be a self-starter who has a track record of noticing jobs that need doing and getting them done.

The farm is a drug and smoke-free environment and we may undertake random drug testing from time to time.
