What we need

We are currently seeking a Dairy Assistant on a large scale dairy farm located in “Mid Canterbury". The farm is 420 ha and run off block milking 950 cows through a modern 60 bale rotary cowshed. Pivot irrigation, Average hours is 9 hours per day and roster is 6 days on / 2 days off. Shared accommodation in a stunning new home.

Remuneration is a base salary of $45,000

Duties include milking, bringing in cows for milking, assisting with animal health, mating and calving. Setting up and taking down temporary electric fences, assisting with irrigation, weed control and general farm and machinery maintenance.

Experience is preferred although not essential. A background in farming would be desirable.
