What we need

Our client has a smaller family farm and is looking for the right person, this person will be self-motivated and wanting to take on a new challenge. Based in Mid Canterbury close to Peel Forest and the Rangatita river which offers numerous outdoor activities right on your doorstep

170ha farm milking 570 cows through a 54-bale rotary, with automatic cup removers and automatic teat sprayers, land is flat and fully irrigated. If you’re passionate about a career in dairy farming, enthusiastic, energetic and eager to learn, then this is the opportunity for you.

You will bring the following:

• Eagerness to learn
• Effective communication skills
• First class attitude to health and safety and animal welfare
• Self-motivation, initiative and a passion for dairy farming
• Restricted or full driver's licence
• An appetite for pasture management e.g. farm walks and allocation of feed
• The ability to work unsupervised and great communication skills
• Pride in yourself, your work and surrounding environment
• A passion for working with stock
