Our client, based in Tasmania, is a family owned and operated dairy farm that has run a successful business for decades. They are on the hunt for a driven Farm Manager!

 

About the Role

Our Client is looking for an experienced Dairy Farmer to manage their dairy farm. The farm is currently milking 700 cross-bred cows, through a 50-stand rotary shed with an easy dairy system. The farm is primarily pasture-based with grain fed in the dairy. 

 This role will include tasks the areas of:

  • Lead the dairy team and be proactive in identifying and dealing with management issues as they arise. 
  • Continually strive to improve time management and operational efficiencies. 
  • Overseeing pasture availability/covers, growth rates, and rotation lengths. You should be continually assessing the herd pasture requirements. 
  • Machinery operation. 
  • Farm repairs and maintenance. 
  • Work health and Safety. 

About You

We are seeking experienced Dairy Farmers that possess:

  • Qualifications - Tertiary qualification(s) in Agriculture or a related field is desired
  • Extensive dairy industry experience (a minimum of 4 years). 
  • A commitment to ensure a safe workplace. 
  • Reliability, punctuality and also the ability to take responsibility. 
  • Good work ethic and positive attitude. We like big smiles, good yarns and to have a laugh!
  • Leadership skills and is a team player. 
  • A Love for cows as much as we do!
